Grasmere, The Lake District

Grasmere is settled in the heart of the Lake District and is the home of Dove Cottage, the long-time residence of Wordsworth.  The Lake District was one of the places in the United Kingdom that felt like home.  Most of that feeling had to do with the fact that I was surrounded by mountains.

Every mountain range that I encounter produces a different feeling in my chest and the mountains of The Lake District were no different.  They were not the comforting big-brother Smoky Mountains, nor were they the awe-inspiring Rockies.  They were both comforting and awe-inspiring.  They were like the feelings described in The Last Battle of being home, yet everything is different and bigger and more than before---The familiarity of Narnia with the magic of newness found in a new world.  I think The Lake District will always be one of the most special places I have ever been.

Grasmere also holds one of the smallest famous Gingerbread shops you'll ever find.

Just trying my best to hold onto feelings in the heart of Tennessee.
